In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech I doubt I can catch the flight we are heading to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were published on this week alongside more than 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, occurrences, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as the president's key advisers in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his show earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this day with Nigel, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he added: "The guys are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can uk. Ideal- so people see the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely however the guys over here have little courage" and noted "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - somebody has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually removed in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018.

A representative for Reform UK told the BBC: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

A portion of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
